Michael is a proven Project Control specialist and UK leading expert in Earned Schedule. Over 15 years experience in Project Control roles across a variety of organisations from planning and scheduling through to Divisional Project Controls Manager. A flair for the implementation and development of required skills to manage effective Project Controls in organisations, using a variety of processes, tools and training resources.


Michael is an enthusiastic and dynamic Project Controls expert who combines his ambition, vision and passion for teaching others into his roles . His previous assignments have included:


  • Providing direction, support and advice on Project Control Matters including support to Crossrail rolling stock programme circa £1billion.

  • Supporting multiple bid responses for Nuclear and Utilities Construction programmes ranging from £1 to £2 billion, specialising in the Project Management and Project Control Response elements.

  • Analysis of over 20 projects to assess maturity levels and applicability of existing EVM data on a €2.6 Nuclear De-commissioning and Construction Programme based on the outskirts of Visaginas. Propose and manage improvements to the existing solution and processes.

  • Provision of the Project Controls response for a £150 million proposal for an upgrade to a Communication system for the Home Office, covering 300,000 end users.

  • Providing the Primavera P6 schedules for a £50 million construction bid for the bulk and aggregate handing system for the new nuclear build at Hinkley point C.

  • Implementation of Earned Value Management into National Grid on over 250 Electricity Transmission Capital Delivery projects, circa £1.2 billion to meet regulatory requirements set by Ofgems’s pricing framework (RIIO).

  • Maintaining the Primavera P6 schedules, EVM and Risk Management for a £150 million contract for the Prime Contract Management of the Future Integrated Soldier Technology programme.

  • Implementation of Deltek Cobra onto an £800 million (consortium contract) extension to tram rail network across Greater Manchester covering both the Design Construct, Maintain (DCM) and Tram Management System (TMS) contracts.

  • Maintaining MS Project Schedules and EVM systems on Military Radios - Bowman VHF and UHF Radio programme developments, testing and production.

  • Developed and maintained schedules for NEC3 form of contracts and FEED including Drax Coal Power Station, Lytag, and EMR.
